Ni Hsiang

Ni Hsiang (b. 1982, Chiayi, Taiwan) graduated from the Graduate Institute of Visual Arts, Tainan National University of the Arts. His work blends personal imagination with playfulness, addressing social realities, beliefs, and collective memory in Taiwan.Using and transforming found objects through categorization, stacking, and recombination, he evokes absurd yet complex states of life. Materials and memory intertwine, forming metaphors for solitude, freedom, and existence, building his distinctive narrative network.

I'm Right

Everyone came to see you

The Many Tenses of Garbage:domestic hoards, impossible to throw away;cardboard waste transmuted into gold;ready-made scenes of care;and the dragging pain of a burden lower than trash itself.

I’m free

Inspired by the flooding of graves caused by land subsidence in Dongshi, Chiayi, Taiwan, heavy tombs are made to float unnaturally, creating a seemingly everyday cultural landscape of boating.

Returning to See Oneself

In the ruins, a journey of revisitation unfolds, which is in fact the objects themselves returning to life.

Please follow me.

Using props to simulate a snowy landscapewhile concealing edible clams and similar elements within themI unfold my understanding of art through a fragmented narrative.

123 Freeze

Against the chaotic backdrop of a bedroom, a group of motionless figures—dressed to indicate various identities—surround a small dog in deep sleep, twitching incessantly, accompanied by a long, drawn-out snore.
